This means you don’t need alot of expensive equipment (a few things will be helpful), there are no excuses. Lets build up your total body fitness in the best environment possible, the world!
Getting outside is wonderful for your body and mind. You can utilize your workout time to enjoy nature and get familiar with your surroundings, while getting fresh air. The sun and fresh air are great for your mind.
A few helpful things:
- good shoes are nice, although I do alot of my workout barefoot (more on that in a future blog).
- warm clothes if your outside layers are best
- a jump rope is the most amazing little piece of equipment, don’t spend alot, a speed rope only costs about $3.50- it’s the best.
www.mapmyrun.com is a site that lets you figure out your mileage. This way you can measure distance. I use it to figure just how far I am going to go on Springwater trail or to calculate my route around my neighborhood. It even gives elevation and approx. cal burn.
Good old fashion situps and pushups are incredibly beneficial. There are so many variations to work all your muscle groups. Following are some videos demonstrating some great options.
This video shows several core options. Ab work is not only doing crunches. You can work your lower back and every core muscle.
This video has a yoga approach. But it is not mellow. It works all the arm and back muscles. This will keep you challenged for a long time. The hindu pushup is a great base arm strengthener.
Remember that it is balancing cardio with strengthening. By doing this and being consistent you will reach your goals.
